About the FamilyNext²
We left everything that makes the FamilyNext technically top-of-the-line and highly loved exactly as it is, but we completely redesigned the rear. This to elevate your comfort as a rider to an even higher level. The FamilyNext² features a sleeker and tougher rear frame, internally routed cables in the handlebar, an integrated rear light in the fender, a fully enclosed chain guard, a handy new seat clamp, and an integrated SP Connect system for your phone.
No, the iconic and safe front side remains the same. You still enjoy the robust EPP box, the low center of gravity, and the comfortable front suspension fork to give your children the safest and smoothest ride.
For a minimalist and sleek look, we neatly routed the cables inside the handlebar. This not only looks more modern, but also protects the cables better against damage and weather elements.
The Urban Arrow FamilyNext² is available in black and green.
Comfort & use
The FamilyNext² is equipped with a fully enclosed chain guard. Because of this, you don't have to worry about wide trousers, long coats, or dresses getting caught in the chain or belt, or grease splashing onto your clothes. Note: Just like with other bicycles, your clothing can still get caught in the spokes if coat guards are not installed.
Yes, thanks to the updated, user-friendly seat clamp, you can adjust the saddle height in an instant without tools. Ideal for families sharing the bike.
Accessories
The handlebar features an integrated SP Connect mounting system. With a matching SP Connect phone case or universal accessory, you can securely and stably click your smartphone onto your handlebar in no time for navigation, for example. Yes, the SP Connect mounting system comes standard with the bike. You can easily order an SP Connect phone case through your dealer or various online retailers. Via this link, you can view all options for mounting your phone.
That depends on the accessory. Because the front side and the EPP box have the same dimensions and iconic shape, current FamilyNext accessories mounted to the front of the box (such as the rain cover, car seat adapter, and boxcover) fit the FamilyNext² perfectly. Accessories for the rear, such as the Rear Carrier Essential, do not fit and have been redesigned for the FamilyNext². View all accessories here.
In addition to the FamilyNext accessories that are compatible with the FamilyNext², we are also launching a battery lock and a rear carrier specifically designed for the FamilyNext². Keep an eye on the accessory page for current availability.

No, due to the new design of the rear frame, the standard Lockride is no longer compatible with the FamilyNext². We have designed our own battery lock to protect your battery against theft.
Safety & tech
The rear light is now fully and neatly integrated into the fender. This ensures a seamless design and optimal visibility in traffic.
No, the FamilyNext² does not come standard with a built-in GPS module, but it is fully compatible. We recommend the official Urban Arrow Connected module to optimally secure and track your cargo bike via our own Urban Arrow app.
Prefer a different GPS solution? The FamilyNext² is also compatible with the Bosch ConnectModule (BCM) and the Tracefy system. Ask your Urban Arrow dealer for the best option for you and have it installed upon delivery to properly secure and insure your bike.
Yes, that is certainly possible. Your Urban Arrow dealer can easily order the Bosch Kiox 300 display for you and professionally install it on the FamilyNext².
As standard, the bike comes equipped with our integrated tail light. Prefer a tail light with an active brake light function? Your dealer can order a Supernova tail light with brake light for you and neatly swap it out.
Specifications
The unladen weight of the Urban Arrow FamilyNext² is 55.6 kg.
The maximum allowed total weight (bike + rider + cargo/children) is 250 kg. With a maximum weight of 125 kg for the rider, there is plenty of capacity left for your children, groceries, and other luggage.
Availability
Starting from its launch on July 30, 2026, the FamilyNext² will be available in a limited edition in the Netherlands, Belgium, & Germany. Contact your local dealer for current availability.
