Getting around a vibrant city with a family is not always easy. Managing busy routines an city life can get overwhelming. But what if your daily travel was actually fun and easy?
For many families, an electric cargo bike is the best way to move around the city. In this edition of The Cargo Bike Chronicles, we meet three Chicago families: Abi Veld, Janice Louie, and Christina Cedeno. They share how their Urban Arrow changed their daily life.
“Accessing nature in a city, recreating as a parent of a kid with high support needs, and bringing joy and flexibility into daily routines can all be tricky. But with an Urban Arrow they can become possible! We love biking on the Lakefront trail, in our Hyde Park neighborhood, and anywhere else in the city with protected bike lanes.” - Abi Veld
“We got our Urban Arrow last summer and have loved riding it with our kids in Chicago, Our favorite route is riding along Lake Shore trail, we can head over to the beach, the museums, the zoo, and more. We love that we can pop over to Northerly Island in 20 mins and never have trouble finding parking. The kids have loved riding in it and more importantly it gives us the opportunity to talk to and have eyes on one of our children who has hearing loss and uses a device to help them hear.” - Janice Louie
“Our usual weekday route has us joining the lakefront trail at 43rd St and leaving the trail at Wilson Ave. We love to see what Lake Michigan, the trailside native plants, the geese and our fellow trailmates are doing each day. Commuting outdoors engages our senses and gets us ready for a day of learning and work. Biking on the weekends is great because we can avoid the hassles of parking and walking! Whether our weekend includes a park or beach meet up with friends, dinner out, or just some grocery shopping, the UA makes it fun and easy. We can load the bucket up with supplies for the outing or groceries or friends, as the day requires. - Abi Veld
